Asma Jabber, a student from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, met Salee and her father in Greenville. She got to know them while helping the Upstate Coalition of Compassion as an interpreter. She then started an advocacy project through No More Victims to help Ammar Yassir Naji, an Iraqi boy paralyzed by an American sniper. The Muslim Students Association of USC and the Carolina Peace Resource Center linked up with the university chapter of Amnesty International to develop the project, and plan a strong interfaith component.
