No More Victims

San Diego

San Diego is honored to advocate for eleven year-old Bariq Sufian Ibrahim. Bariq was injured during random shooting by an American military convoy just prior to the second invasion of Fallujah in November of 2004. Shrapnel lodged in Bariq's neck near his spine. A fistula formed, impeding blood flow to his brain. This potentially life-threatening condition has been surgically corrected in the United Arab Emirates.

San Diego is a project of The Triple L's, a group of politically progressive women in the San Diego area. Our advocacy project is spearheaded by Loretta Mathieu, Susan Robertson, and Diane Levy. We raised funds to help Bariq and his family. We also provided funding to help Salee make her second trip to the US for prosthetic services. By helping these children, we hope to provide a spark of hope and positive force among the overwhelming tidal wave of destruction and sorrow this unnecessary war has wrought.
